The City of Oxford is proud to announce that it has once again been recognized as a Tree City USA community for 2024! 🌳 🌟 This prestigious designation, awarded by the Arbor Day Foundation, celebrates Oxford's ongoing commitment to effective urban forest management and environmental stewardship.

For over three decades, Oxford has prioritized the planting and care of trees 🌳, recognizing their vital role in enhancing our community's beauty, improving air quality 💨, and providing shade and shelter 🏡. Maintaining this recognition requires meeting the Arbor Day Foundation’s standards, including having a dedicated tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, an annual forestry budget, and an Arbor Day observance 🎉.

The City extends its gratitude to the volunteers, city staff, and community members who contribute to keeping Oxford green and vibrant 💚. As part of the celebration, Oxford will host its annual Arbor Day event later this spring, featuring tree planting activities 🌿 and educational opportunities for all ages.
