Tuesday, October 13, 2026 / Oxford News, Events FIBER INSTALLATION IN OXFORD Spectrum 📢 FIBER INSTALLATION WORK COMING TO OXFORD! 📢 The City of Oxford would like to let residents know that Spectrum (formerly Cox Communications) will be working in the northeast section of town, beginning near Cottonwood and Michigan Streets, to install fiber-optic cable. Earlier this summer, Cox Communications notified the City that it had received authorization from the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) to install equipment in Oxford to provide television and internet services. Since then, Cox has transitioned to Spectrum, which will be carrying out the work. A few things residents should know: 🔹 Most cable and equipment will be installed in alleyways. 🔹 Some installations may require work in front yards. Door hangers will be placed on homes where front-yard work is scheduled. 🔹 All contractors and subcontractors will have identifying placards on their vehicles. Starting today, work will begin in the northeast part of town and progress as installation moves forward. We’re sharing this information so residents know what to expect when they see crews and vehicles working in the area. Thank you for your patience as this project gets underway in Oxford!
