Welcome to Oxford, Kansas

Oxford is a historic small town located in Sumner County, Kansas on Highway 160 with a population of approximately 1,000 residents. Oxford has been named a TREE CITY USA since 1992. The town site sits on the west bank of the Arkansas River. Cave Park is located on the east side of town, and offers a playground area for children, a covered shelter, and a public access, paved boat ramp to the Arkansas River. KDHE Boil Water Advisory

UPDATE: The Boil Advisory was lifted on Tuesday January 27, 2026.  You may resume all normal activity with your water.  Please note that due to the break you may still have cloudy or brown water,  please flush your lines to help alleviate these issues.

 

 

Due to a break of the main water line feeding into town we are now in a Boil Water Advisory issued by KDHE

🚱 Boil Water Advisory Update (KDHE) 🚱
The Boil Water Advisory issued by KDHE remains in effect until further notice.

Water samples were collected this morning and are currently en route to the lab. We will not receive results until KDHE has completed testing and notifies the City.

👉 We will provide updates as soon as we hear from KDHE.
Until the advisory is lifted, please continue to follow all KDHE boil water guidelines:

🔹 KDHE Boil Water Advisory Guidelines 🔹
✔️ Boil all water used for:

Drinking
Cooking
Making ice
Brushing teeth
Washing dishes

💧 Bring water to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute, then allow it to cool before use.

🚫 Do NOT use tap water for:

Drinking or swallowing
Preparing food or beverages
Making ice
Brushing teeth

🧼 Bathing & Showering
Adults may shower, but avoid swallowing water
Young children should be bathed with boiled or bottled water when possible

🍽️ Dishes
Use a dishwasher with a sanitizing cycle, or
Wash with boiled water and allow to air dry
