⚠️ WATER DISCOLORATION UPDATE ⚠️

💧💧 Some residents may have noticed discolored water beginning yesterday evening. The issue originated when a third-party contractor working for Brightspeed Internet struck a 3" water line owned by Rural Water District #6 (RWD #6). The line, located west of Oxford between Greenwich Road and their pumphouse, was repaired later that day.

Once water service was restored, the return of water pressure stirred up sediment (mud and dirt) that had settled at the bottom of the water lines. This caused temporary discoloration within the system.

This type of situation is similar to what occurred earlier this year following repairs to the City’s main water line.

Residents may notice varying levels of murkiness depending on which water line serves their home and how much sediment was present. If your water appears discolored, running your faucets intermittently can help flush the lines and clear the water more quickly. Cleaning or replacing any water filters may also be helpful.

The system is expected to continue clearing, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. 💧💧
