Oxford is a historic small town located in Sumner County, Kansas on Highway 160 with a population of approximately 1,000 residents. Oxford has been named a TREE CITY USA since 1992. The town site sits on the west bank of the Arkansas River. Cave Park is located on the east side of town, and offers a playground area for children, a covered shelter, and a public access, paved boat ramp to the Arkansas River. City of Oxford Election Results

The City of Oxford recently held its mayoral and city council elections. For the mayor’s seat, three candidates—Jon Hege, David Olmsted and Marvell Summerow—stood for election. A total of 204 votes were cast. David Olmsted secured 96 votes and won the election for his fourth term as Mayor of Oxford.

In the city council elections, both seats were uncontested. Incumbents Richard Bain and Anthony J. Navrat Jr. ran unopposed and will each serve another four-year term on the Oxford City Council.

Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to the community members who participated in the election.
