β οΈ WATER DISCOLORATION UPDATE β οΈ Thursday, April 9, 2026 URGENT, Oxford News, Events π§π§ Some residents may have noticed discolored water beginning yesterday evening. The issue originated when a third-party contractor working for Brightspeed Internet struck a 3" water line owned by Rural Water District #6 (RWD #6). The line, located west of Oxford between Greenwich Road and their pumphouse, was repaired later that day. Once water service was restored, the return of water pressure stirred up sediment (mud and dirt) that had settled at the bottom of the water lines. This caused temporary discoloration within the system. This type of situation is similar to what occurred earlier this year following repairs to the City’s main water line. Residents may notice varying levels of murkiness depending on which water line serves their home and how much sediment was present. If your water appears discolored, running your faucets intermittently can help flush the lines and clear the water more quickly. Cleaning or replacing any water filters may also be helpful. The system is expected to continue clearing, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. π§π§ Read more

π 2026 Planners Have Arrived! π π 2026 Planners Have Arrived! π Wednesday, December 10, 2025 Oxford News, Events If you’ve been patiently (or not-so-patiently) counting down the days, the wait is officially over. Our 2026 planners have made their grand entrance at the City Office, and yes — they’re free! As many of you know, we order these every year for our staff, but the supplier only sells them in bulk… large bulk. So, once again, we’re swimming in planners. Instead of building a fort out of them (tempting, but frowned upon), we’re handing them out to anyone who wants one. If you’re the type who likes to get a jump on the new year, or if you simply enjoy a crisp, empty planner full of possibility, stop by the office during business hours and pick one up. Supplies will last until… well, until you all wipe us out like you do every year. Come grab yours — before we start using them as doorstops. π Read more
