Resident Reminder

Trash Cans Left in the Street

Oxford News, TL's Sanitation

Dear Oxford Residents,

We would like to remind all residents that trash cans must be removed from the street after collection. Leaving cans on the street creates hazards for traffic, pedestrians and our city maintenance crew. To keep our community clean and safe, we kindly ask that all trash containers be pulled back to your property after collection day.

If you have any questions, please contact the City Office at 620-455-2223.

Water Leak

Ohio and Myrtle

URGENT, Oxford News

City of Oxford Utility Crew is hard at work Friday morning fixing a water leak at the intersection of Ohio and Myrtle.  Water pressure might be reduced and residents could see brown water later today due to this leak.  Make sure if you see one of the City of Oxford Utility workers you give them a big THANK YOU for braving cold temps and wind to repair this leak!

Temporary Water Outages

URGENT, Oxford News

Residents in the NW section of town may have intermitent water service today due to construction on the west side of town for the US 160 Hi-Way expansion project.  The City was not aware these outages were occuring today and we apologize for any inconvience this may cause.  All services should be restored before the end of the business day.  If you are experiencing problems after hours please report it to 911 as a non emergency utility outage.

Thank You!

Oxford News

A big Thank-You to Primarily Floral for the BEAUTIFUL Poinsettia that they brought by the City Office today! It has brightened up the Office and helps make it really feel like Christmas! Make sure to check out their shop in downtown Oxford for more festive items!!

Power Outages

Oxford News

Not all squirrels are aerial acrobats, but the ones in town sure think they are! While most prefer to zip along the electric lines like they’re on a high-voltage roller coaster, sometimes they miscalculate and cause a power outage. Our utility crew is always on standby, ready to rescue us from our dark, squirrel-induced dilemmas.

Just a heads up: it’s a busy season as squirrels stockpile snacks for winter, so if you see a furry little daredevil using the power lines as their personal highway, don’t be surprised!

If the lights go out during office hours, call us at 620-455-2223. After hours, please call 911—just make sure to specify that it’s a nonemergency outage and not a squirrel-related heist!

Stay powered up and keep an eye out for those furry aerialists!

KDHE Notifications

Oxford News

Earlier this year the City of Oxford by direction of The State of Kansas sent out surveys to all the residents that have water service lines with the City of Oxford.  To stay in compliance with KDHE guidelines we are now sending out brochures based off the answers we recieved on those surveys.  If you recieve one of these brouchures they are just a information pamphlet and it DOES NOT mean that you have Lead exposure in your water.  The City of Oxford does do testing for lead and we have NEVER had a test come back positive for Lead.
